The Wedding of Angela and Chris

Riverbed Chapel and Renaissance Hotel
May 10, 2008

AVANT GARDE! When creative minds get together what a wild ride. This wedding was tremendously fun to plan because the creative juices started flowing and never stopped. From feathers, crystals, sushi, trees, moss, and beyond!

Chris and Angela were married on May 10, 2008 at the Riverbend Chapel. The color scheme was white, black, aqua blue and bling. Angela custom designed her monogram that was used throughout the décor. She had her monogram custom designed on the aisle runner which set the trend for the day.

Upon arrival to the Renaissance, guests entered the atrium and were welcomed with a piano cocktail hour and passed appetizers. The atrium was dressed in candlelight and crisp white satin linen throughout. In an effort to achieve the AW Factor, the doors to the grand ballroom opened at once to the bride and groom's vision. The room was surrounded with beautiful varying height centerpieces as tall as 5 ½ feet. The centerpieces were adorned with aqua, black and clear crystals hanging from the trees, along with orchids and white calla lilies. Did I mention the black ostrich feathers that crowned the top?

The room was illuminated in a soft hue of aqua throughout the space. The martini louge was in the shape of the custom designed monogram and the cake had crystals adorned all over it. Guests enjoyed the flexible food stations, including sushi, an action pasta station and her guilty pleasure -a baked potato station with all the toppings.

Chris and Angela danced the night away with a live band and dj --- what a night. The couple departed in a sea of sparkles surrounded by all of their guests. Thank you Angela and Chris for including Soirée in your day!

The Wedding of Kelli and Nick

Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center
May 9, 2008

Kelli Pousson and Nick Sommer were married on Friday night May 9th in Austin, TX at the Lady Bird Johnson Wild Flower Center. It was a beautiful southern affair with ivory and lavender hemstitch linens, beautiful succulents laid in stones and sage and purple floral with bright reds and yellows for the head table. After the ceremony, the Friday night excitement was in the air as champagne and "Tito’s Sweetos" drinks whet the pallet during a band-entertained cocktail hour. A sit down family-style dinner followed with delicious gourmet southern food. The evening was topped off with guests indulging in a simple, elegant chocolate cake topped with clear sugar sprinkles, cups of vanilla blue bell ice cream, and lots and lots of dancing.

Akoya Condominiums Grand Opening Party and Fashion Show

April 22, 2008

Akoya Condominiums – located down on South Lamar off – opened its doors in Spring 2008. Known as one of the first truly green condo communities, the kick off party was an event not to be missed. It included food from some of Austin’s finest restaurants and catering companies, a full bar, great music, and a fashion show with looks from Austin’s top boutiques and designers. And the best part – proceeds of the event went to LifeWorks – a wonderful charity organization that transitions youth and families from crisis to safety and success.

The Wedding of Denise and Paul

Smith Family Chapel at Riverbend Church and Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center
April 19, 2008

I had so much fun working with Denise and her Mom, Irma, and her sister, Dena to plan this event. I loved how well the three of them got along and you could tell how much they all loved each other.

These ladies had great ideas and a beautiful vision. And it doesn’t get much more beautiful than the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center. And then when you pair it up with these unbelievably gorgeous flowers, you’ve made a match as perfect as Denise and Paul!

Denise and Paul enjoyed a private romantic dinner overlooking the courtyard before entering the reception with their first dance. After dinner, the guests entered the gallery for the real party. And let me tell you, this was a seriously great party. This wedding had my first-ever “dance off!” I thought they were joking – but they were totally serious! It was boys vs. girls and it was so much fun!

The Wedding of Britt and Jeff

Austin Museum of Art – Laguna Gloria
March 22, 2008

Britt and Jeff pride themselves on their unique sense of style and their playful irreverence. And it showed! We started off with a pre-ceremony cocktail hour. I LOVE this concept and the guests did too! The Jewish ceremony included a stunning chuppah with a very natural feel.
The food had a Caribbean flair and included Hawaiian Spare Ribs and Mango Blue Crab Cakes. The grill station included Salmon with Shitake Mushrooms and Miso Glaze.
The couple expressed their playful nature with some fun dessert options including an off-the-wall cake, two s’mores stations with mini-grill and homemade marshmallows, and Amy’s Ice Cream! At the end of the night, our team handed out Whataburger Cheeseburgers (to help these partiers soak up a little bit of the alcohol before heading home!). Lighting was the key design element for this wedding. Check out this tent with an array of different colored and different sized lanterns.
