The Wedding of Lisa and Tim

Austin Museum of Art - Laguna Gloria
June 28, 2008

This wedding was the epitome of fun and elegant. The cherry blossom theme included soft pink and sage green linens and beautiful lush floral centerpieces. There were lots of fun and unique elements. Lisa’s Chinese heritage was well represented with an exciting performance by Lion/Dragon Dancers! Lisa also changed out of her beautiful wedding gown into a traditional Chinese dress. She surprised everyone when she walked out on to the dance floor with her sexy red dress! The plated meal included a “duet” of filet mignon and halibut, and the cake was stunning. The guests danced the night away and then the happy couple exited in a an antique jaguar.

The Wedding of Cathy and Peter

Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center
June 7, 2008

Cathy and Peter
were married on June 7, 2008 at the Wildflower Center. I can sum up this event in one word- sophisticated. The couple stayed cool in the June Texas heat with a color scheme of black, ivory and a hint of red.

The sun was at its strongest right at 6:30pm and its rays kissed the ceremony with a beautiful glow. Bogart for sure! Following the ceremony, cocktails were served n the butterfly garden as the bride and groom enjoyed their first moment alone as husband and wife. Their private dining experience was tucked away near the library where they overlooked the greenbelt. Cathy and Peter, avid swing dancers, danced the night away with a live band playing the American standards with a tremendous big band sound. Their night was unforgettable.

Here's lookin' at you kid...

The Wedding of Mary Catherine and Kelly

Good Shepard Episcopal Church/Mercury Hall

June 7, 2008

Mary Catherine Parsons and Kelly Townsend were married at the gorgeous Good Shepard Episcopal Church with reception following at the historic Mercury Hall. Simple beauty was the theme carried throughout the evening. The rustic beautiful setting and landscape of towering oak trees was complimented by summery ivory taffeta linens and blue hydrangeas with opaque candlescapes topping the tables. The tent was glowing, beautifully decorated with taffeta and ivory sheers and iron chandeliers matching the iron lanterns displayed on the grounds. The two tall style bars kept everyone smiling, and the band kept everyone dancing as did South Carolina swag music provided by the bride and groom. Other personalized touches included family heirloom linens from the bride’s grandmother on the cake table and the cake topped with two state flowers symbolizing the bride and groom’s heritage and coming together.

Rarest of Them All 2008

June 1, 2008

The Soirée team partnered up with Rare Magazine to celebrate Rare's first annual reader's poll, "Rarest of Them All", with a huge event on top of The Monarch garage. There was live music, performance art, food from 40 of the best Austin restaurants, fashion, art and of course lots of drinks! Performances included break dancing from B-Boy/B-Girl City and hula hooping by Henna Kim. Annie Ray set up her photo booth and snapped pictures of the evening as well. Everyone had a chance to win gift certificates to their favorite spots with the raffle to benefit Lifeworks.
The view was amazing on top of The Monarch parking garage as the sun set, and the crowd enjoyed performances by Guy Forsyth, Mother's Anthem, and Alpha Rev. Big thanks to all of our sponsors, vendors, performers, and guests!
