The Wedding of Jaklin and Nick

December 9, 2006
Austin Museum of Art – Laguna Gloria

Jaklin and Nick are a very special couple and they had very special wedding. Jaklin and Nick had been dating since high school and were very obviously very much in love. Jaklin is extremely creative and loves bright festive colors. Since it was a December wedding, we decided to take full advantage of the holiday timeframe and used red as our primary color with silver and gold accents. Dinner was held inside gorgeously decorated tents with beautiful chandeliers and grapevine lanterns. The tables had red damask linens with beautiful antique candelabras as centerpieces. The décor included a gorgeous Christmas tree decorated with Christmas ornaments, which were also the favors for the guests to take off the tree as they left the event.

The Wedding of Julie and Major

Austin Museum of Art – Laguna Gloria
July 15, 2005
In case you’re not a rabid Longhorn fan like the rest of this city, Major Applewhite is pretty much a celebrity here in Austin. He was the Longhorn’s legendary quarterback for a couple years and then went to the other side of the table and began coaching. Due to his coaching schedule, the best and only time they were able to get married was smack dab in the middle of the summer. Julie really wanted an outdoor wedding, so we brought in air-conditioned tents and all was well with the world! Since it weather was more or less tropical, we decided – what a perfect theme! Julie picked the most beautiful tropical colors including aqua, bright yellow, fuchsia and coral. The corresponding lush floral centerpieces just added to this festive celebration!

We incorporated Julie’s Mexican heritage by hiring a salsa band to lead the guests from the ceremony to the cocktail hour. It may have been hot, but the guests got to cool off with Amy’s ice cream for dessert!
